ABOUT TAURIPAMPA
Tauripampa town is located at 3,500 meters over sea level to the east of Cañete and Asia (a top beach destination). This is an old trail people used to communicate the highlands with the coastal valley area of Imperial, Cañete. There is no car communication until the dry river.
ABOUT THE RIDE
Few people know this trail. It is an old trail with terrain changing as you drop. Expect loose rocks on the top, followed by endless single tracks with some technical parts, some creek crossing, there even is a part the trail is carved on massive rock sections and ends on a sandy trail leading to a dry river.
The ride has 20 kms of single-track going down ending on a dry river called Ihuanco with a total distance of 40 kms to Imperial. Our Holy Trails van will enter the dry river to meet us after the first 15 kms of this dry river section. This top section of the dry river is fast with a couple small climbs but with a high speed average. The rest of the dry river is a lot flatter, riders are free to pedal all the way out and complete the 61 kms or take advantage of the air ac in the van to escape from the dessert after 35 kms of riding.
We will have lunch at a CEVICHE and sea food restaurant close to the end.

Born in Lima and riding since he is 14 years old. Christian has been a DH racer for many years and has collected some National DH titles. Now he is fascinated with riding long trails that start next to glaciers.
“Juancho” started biking only 5 years ago and is totally in love with MTB. He definitely is our guide riding the most kms a year. Juan has a perfect english and loves bike mechanics.
Hans is a Pioneer of MTB in Cusco and cofounder of Holy Trails. He lives in our favorite place on earth, The Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco. Hans is constantly exploring and riding Paradise. A background in tourism and a fluid english makes him our main man at Cusco.
Diego “Pacifico” is our main man and has been riding since 1996. On 2002 he started Racing Downhill and has collected several national titles. Founded Holy Trails in 2002. Diego has discovered and restored 2 of our secret trails and has been organizing Santisimo Downhill an iconic race for 9 years; also owner and operator of BIKESHOP.
